El Fabuloso Lohan

If someone mentions the name Lindsay Lohan , I'm sure in the corner of your mind, a negative thought might pop up. Lindsay clearly doesn't really have a stellar reputation, but she is a young Hollywood starlet constantly in the spotlight after all, and everyone knows that Hollywood isn't exactly the ideal place for a child to be brought up in.

Anyway. I'm not her biggest fan and I have thought negatively of her before, I admit. But I guess she's just trying to be herself amidst all the bad press and drama - it's not easy learning from mistakes when one is always in the tabloids for the wrong reasons.

She's considered a fashion icon, and I really like her edgy style. I was looking through her pictures from various magazine photoshoots and they're really fashion forward. (She was slammed for her collaboration with Emanuel Ungaro ... but oh well.)

Here are some of my favourite pictures of her! In my opinion, she looks best in black & white pictures, so you can check them out on her fansites and tell me what you think.
Pretty! Check out her uber mascara-ed lashes!

All three photos above shot by Marvin Scott Jarrett for Nylon.

Okay, digressing, I'm quite into leggings (or tights, hosiery ... whichever suits) now. I think it's one of the quintessential items every girl must have. Rachel Zoe says so as well. I've been thinking of getting a pair from TopShop (or any other place that sells them at a reasonable price - any recommendations?). I can't seem to decide between the plain leggings, or the lace ones!

Time to check back to Lindsay Lohan ,much to your displeasure.

Textured leggings - cool, edgy without trying too hard or going OTT
... or just plain and simple, which is more versatile and won't go out of style
... or lace leggings - unique and more feminine?

I honestly can't decide! I think lace is definitely the coolest, but it might be a little too hoochie mama. Haha. Can't believe I just said that. Anyway what do you think?

Say My Name

Hey people! KLCC was good today. I finally got a wallet, thanks to my dad. Roxy was my choice, because I like the non-tacky, girly designs. Plus, they're having a sale. The title of this post is the name of my wallet ... quirky eh? Sounds like a Benefit product.

I'm loving my new rings from Diva!
So pretty.

Put Your Hands Up

... if you like the new Blackberry Bold 9000 Smartphone! I know I will, because I'm loving it. :) Originally I was lusting after another phone, but this is more ... possible, I suppose.

I need to stop hyperventilating!

The website here.

Yesterday was fun. Met up with Nasy, Najla and Riqa at Starbucks, The Curve in the morning. I just realised how much I miss Naj and Riqa - those crazy times back in Form 2 (ahem, Science Lab) are unforgettable!

Shopping heals the mind and soul. Now who doesn't agree with me?

The City; Season 2

When is it airing on MTV? I really can't wait!

Erin K., Roxy, Whitney, Samantha, Olivia.
All pictures from here.

What happened to Erin Lucas from the first season anyway?

She was one of my favourite people on the show (besides Whitney), because of her bubbly and down-to-earth personality. Plus, she was Whit's closest friend at that time.

Now she's replaced by ze bitchy-looking (though I don't know much about her, she does like bitchy, no?) Roxy Olin. Hmm. Something tells me trouble will ensue, since this show is all about the drama anyway.

I can't wait!!

Candy Girl

The other day, I was just having a casual conversation with my family about sugar. Well, more like my sugar intake, diabetes, et cetera. Anyway it was quite coincidental, because last Saturday happened to be World Diabetes Day (The Star featured it on the cover). Maybe the man upstairs (haha, got that from Supernatural) is trying to give me a hint? Gulp.

Ahh, look at nice macro-fied sugar. :)

Ever since, I've been thinking about my daily sugar intake. Am I taking too much? But then again, sugar is almost unavoidable in everyday life, right? I might be consuming more sugar than I think, without realizing it.
Almost everything has sugar!

Hmm. I wouldn't eat these cookies, because I don't like cream - NOT because they're fattening, but because I just dislike cream. Is that a crime? O.o
Okay, so I drink one or two cups of tea a day. I normally add two teaspoons of white sugar to my tea (no milk) and have it with buttered toast. Speaking of which ... I've begun sprinkling sugar onto my toast recently, and now I can't stop! Sugar is so damn addictive. I know most people would agree with me on that.
Oh, by the way, I just discovered that buttered toast with sugar is actually called Fairy Toast in Australia. Correct me if I'm wrong - I haven't heard of Fairy Toast before, but it sure sounds gooood! I tried Googling it but didn't get any helpful results.

Anyway. I tried cuttng down on my sugar intake, starting with my cuppas. I really tried to add only one teaspoon - or if I really must, one and a half - to my tea, and not reach for the jar of sugar after buttering my bread. But, being myself, obviously I failed. =.= I blame my lack of willpower and love for sugar.

I'm feeling sleepy, which explains the pointless post. Actually it wasn't all that pointless - I like those sinfully delicious pictures, which I got from Flickr.

Glamaphonic, Electronic, Disco Baby

Hey people! I was reading about the first Chic POP: Street Market last week and was really looking forward to the second one, since I'd missed the first.

Pictures of the first Chic POP can be found here if you're interested.
Well, as it turns out, Part 2 of Chic POP was on the same day as the wedding Nasy invited me to (previous entry), so I had to miss it. Oh well. :|

On another note, I'm sure you guys would've noticed that there are SALES everywhere! Not crappy 10%, selected-items-only discounts - no, I mean 50% - 70% sales! Real discounts, great stuff. Seeing window displays of stores plastered with signs boldly screaming SALE SALE SALE just triggers endorphins man. I love sales!

Are there any good stores with great bargains that you like to go to whenever a major sale is on? And what are the items on your wishlist now that the sale is on? Do share! :)

Escada's newest perfume, Desire Me, was being promoted at Mid Valley the other day.
I couldn't help myself la. It's so gold and fabulous!

Wedding in Shah Alam

Yesterday, I attended Nasyitah's brother's wedding, which was held in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam. My dad dropped me off at Nawal's place, and her sister drove us there. Surprisingly, we didn't get lost! Nawal's good with directions, unlike me.

By the time we got there, we were a little late already and we even missed Anwar Ibrahim's grand entrance. =.= But a wedding is a wedding after all, so we just soaked up the joyous atmosphere and dug into some REALLY GOOD food.

Nasy greeted us, and showed us our seats. Some random photographer kept coming up to us and taking our photos. Paparazzi much? Nasy looked so pretty - yeah, I normally compliment her with words like "cool", "awesome" but this time she looked pretty! - with her kebaya. Nasy, however, wouldn't be Nasy if she didn't do something quirky with her demure outfit. Like, say, complete the look with sneakers, like how she did for Prefects' Night o8! She's too cool la.

Okay, enough talk, here are the pictures I took at the event. Mind you, I didn't take many, because I didn't think it was very appropriate to keep snapping away like nobody's business, plus I was too busy eating and mingling with people.

The lovely couple with random fans. Haha.
Doesn't Nasy's brother look like her? The resemblance is uncanny!

Nasy, trying to calm her nerves before performing onstage for the happy couple.
She oozes coolness!

Nawal, my French mentor and I. Isn't she cute? :D

Anjelee, me, who wasn't ready for this shot at all, Nasy, and Nawal.

Anjelee working the video cam.

The bride and groom.

Nasy's pearly whites ...
Nasy and the bride!
Omg she is so gorgeous!
The picture doesn't do her justice because she's so much prettier in reality!

There, a close-up!
She's so gorgeous! *sobs*

Nawal stoning! Haha.

Then Nawal's sister came to pick us up, and I followed her back because my parents were on a shopping spree at The Gardens. =.=

Me posing with my favourite Vogue cover in Nawal's bedroom!
I look so crappy in this photo. Sigh. I posted this up mainly because of the magazine anyway.

Camwhoring in the backseat, because I was bored.
Candid shot. My head turned at the last minute. =.=

Y'know, I can't seem to do the whole tongue-sticking-out-in-a-cool-way pose. =.=

So, might as well just do a simpler one with a lower chance of looking stupid!

This is why you need shades to combat the harsh sunlight. Forgot to bring my XOXO ones.

So Much For Megan Fox

Hey people! If you've read my earlier post, it's apparent that I've not been transferring pictures into the Mac because there seemed to be no way to do so. Well ... I put the phrase "think out of the box" to good use and thought about other possible ways to transfer my pictures, and managed to think of one method.

I'm not a techie person obviously, so this thought did not occur to me before. =.= I admit I'm not very bright when it comes to computer-related things.

So anyway, here are the pictures I took that have been sitting around in my phone for quite some time already.

1 November o9

Kiru and I met up with Soon and Eric at 1U that fine Sunday morning. The original plan was to watch Jennifer's Body that had just released on Thursday that week. What the heck, Soon had even booked tickets beforehand. The best part was when we got bloody stopped at the entrance. Reminder: Jennifer's Body is an 18-above movie.

Not blaming anyone for stopping us, though they have never really checked for ID before. Guess we just had bad luck that day for the dude to be bothered enough to actually care.

No, I think the best part was when we spoke to the supervisor - after she snapped at Soon in a matronly manner and after we were told to wait like douchebags for 15-20 minutes =.=. Basically we were told that we wouldn't be getting any refund, so have a nice life and piss off.

Okay, sorry for sounding like a bitch, but I was really mad that time. It still pisses me off when I recall, but it doesn't anger me as much as it used to anymore. Oh well. We had a pretty good time after that anyway. Pool, shopping, and camwhoring make me a happy girl. *flashes cheesy smile*

The pictures aren't exactly in correct order, and the quality is horrible, but that's nothing I can do because I transferred them via Bluetooth.

CK playing pool - for the first time! :)

Eric, who was Kiru's "mentor".

Kiru and Soon, my "mentor".

Damnit! I couldn't get Eric's "concentration face"!

Haha, the guys look a little odd. Wonder why?

*cue cheesy smile*
Our sexay legs. Haha.

Promoting the new nail file Kiru and I got, which comes in a set.
"It's a Girl Thing!" it says. =.=

Kiru: "Dudeeee check out this 3OH!3 song yooo" (in sleazy surfer dude voice)

xx
Alrighty, that's it for now. I yawned about five times already, which is a sign. I guess I should wake up and start another boring week once more ... will I enjoy it? Or will it be another waste of time like how it normally is?

What will you be up to this week?

xoxo

P/s: I'll be updating about Nasyitah's brother's wedding tomorrow, probably. With pictures - finally!
